May I point you in the direction of Thomas Weelkes, a composer of sacred music who died in 1623 (same year as William Byrd, another poptastic fave) and he was certainly more ‘rock’n’roll’ than 99.9% of every 21st century artiste I can think of. Keep On Truckin’ Tommy Weelkes…
